Cleaning And Re-Coating

This is a dust free process of cleaning & recoating your hardwood floors. This process is designed so that you will avoid the dirty mess that comes with sanding and refinishing. This process can be done in one day versus sanding that can take several days. While this process will not remove deep gouges and water stains it will however restore small scratches and add an additional layer of the latest generation of polyurethane. We can reapply a finish that has a hardness and appearance that is equal to or better than before. Doigg’s can clean and re-coat your wood floor which includes:
1. Pre inspection – to determine if the floor contains any wax or acrylic that could affect the adhesion of the new finish.
2. Area Preparation making sure not to disturb any other floor types.
3. Furniture manipulation
4. Clean the ceiling fans and air vent covers. This is done so when the finish is applied we take no chances of any dust from above getting into the finish.
5. Mask and protect the baseboards and other floors surfaces that are not to be cleaned.
6. Pre-vacuum and removal of dry soil
7. Clean floor with wood floor cleaner, floor machine and a soft ‘soil catching’ pad
8. Clean edges and corners
9. Prep the floor for the finish
10. Repair any scratches throughout the areas that will have a new finish.
11. Apply multiple coats of polyurethane with the correct curing times in between each coat. You can have it in Satin, Semi-gloss or High-gloss.
12. Post inspection
13. After the final coat is cured and dried we will move the furniture back and add felt protectors to the bottom of the furniture legs to protect your new wood floors.

Keep your floor clean! Dirt and sand tracked in under your feet can ruin the surface of wood floors, and any other flooring material, faster than anything else. No grit, no damage. Animals with sharp nails do NO good to your floor finish especially one with a high gloss that will show all blemishes

To help maintain your floor, do the following:
• Blot up spills immediately.
• Dust mop floors using an untreated mop and proper wood floor cleaner with a neutral ph of 7.
• Use door mats and walk-off mats whenever possible to keep dirt and grit off the floor.
of mild colorless hand dishwashing detergent, and 1 cup of warm water. Work the spot with some of the solution and then dry blot with fresh towel. Next mix 1 tablespoon of ammonia and ½ cup of water. Sponge this area and blot the area with a clean dry absorbent towel.
