Frequently Asked Questions
Carpet Cleaning:
1. What process will be used to clean my carpet?
A: In order to get carpet truly cleaned, you need to use steam in order
to flush out the dirt as well as the cleaning agents. If carpet is not
extracted with steam, residue left behind will attract dirt, think of
shampooing your hair without rinsing it.
2. How long will my carpet take to dry?
A: Many things affect the drying time of carpet such as the type of the
material and the humidity level. We offer a quick dry method that will
dramatically decrease the drying time; most of our customers getting a
last minute carpet cleaning for a dinner party prefer our quick dry.
With our equipment, we are able to meet or exceed the Carpet and Rug
Institute standard for drying time.
3. What are those black lines under my doorways and along the
baseboards?
A: You may notice dark lines that appear along the walls, under doorways
and along the perimeter of furniture. This is called filtration.
Filtration soiling is very fine particles of dust passed through the A/C
unit. When the A/C goes off the air falls down along the doorways,
furniture and walls into the carpet, when the A/C comes back on it uses
the carpet as a filter drawing it back through the A/C again.
This type of soiling can be removed with special treatment. Since it has
passed through the A/C it is statically charged. We have special
cleaning agents to de-charge this so it can be removed.
4. Are you insured?
A: Yes, Doigg's is fully insured for your protection and peace of mind.
5. Should I have my carpet steam cleaned or dry cleaned?
A: Most carpet manufacturers recommend hot water extraction with
truck-mounted machines. This method done properly removes more soil than
dry cleaning.
There are some situations that require dry cleaning and we can do this
for you as well.
6. Is your work guaranteed?
A: We guarantee our work and if a spot that you were charged for
treating reappears, call
us within 10 days of the initial cleaning and we will re-treat that spot
at no cost to you.
7. Will you scuff my walls with your hoses?
A: We us corner-guards to protect your walls from being scuffed from our
hoses. We want you to feel comfortable that we are in YOUR home.
8. I’ve heard that once my carpet is cleaned it gets dirty quicker, is
this true?
A: This is not the case with our process. Other cleaning methods that
leave residue cause re-soiling, but with our steam extraction all the
dirt and cleaning agents are rinsed with a pH balancing fiber rinse
along with a strong vacuum that leaves your carpet clean and residue
free.
9. Will your cleaning process soak my carpet padding and sub-floor?
A: No. Our equipment is very powerful and uses highly pressurized steam
with one of the largest truck-mount vacuum blowers available leaving
your carpet clean and your padding and sub-floor dry.
10. Why is it important to vacuum?
A: In order to keep your carpet looking great frequent vacuuming is the
most important thing you can do. Dry soil removal (vacuum) is the first
and most crucial step in quality carpet maintenance.
11. How often should I clean my carpet?
A: It depends on the amount of use your carpet gets, how hard the
traffic areas are used and also if there are people there with
allergies. While some people get their carpet cleaned every 12 months
others need it more often.
12. Why are my walkways darker in color than the rest of the room?
A: Certain areas that are used much more than others can appear darker
in color even after it has been cleaned, this is what we call Apparent
Soil. This is where the carpet fibers have been crushed over time due to
shading and abrasion. Watermarking or pooling is a color change effect
which arises from the reversal or bending of the carpet pile fibers so
that light is either absorbed or reflected from the pile. Crushing is
influenced by traffic level and carpet care. Regular vacuuming and
regular cleaning can reduce the degree of crushing that will occur.
Note: Try not to have the furniture set to where it funnels all the
traffic through one area. Rearrange the furniture from time to time so
that different areas will be used.
Carpet pad has a lot to do with matting of traffic areas. Soft spongy
pad will allow your carpet to contract more as it is walked on, this
will cause your carpet to wear down much sooner than it should. When
buying new carpet make sure to get a dense pad, it will keep your carpet
strong and long lasting.
13. Do you use subcontractors?
A: We do NOT use subcontractors. We are a family business and our
technicians are all employees of Doiggs. All of our employees have
strenuous background checks and are randomly drug tested.

teaspoon of mild detergent. Dishwashing soaps can be used for this.

could damage a rug especially made from natural fibers.

Air Duct Cleaning:
1. Why should I have my air ducts cleaned?
A: Having clean air ducts gives you a higher quality of air which
results in better health and cleaner environment. Reduce you allergy
symptoms.
2. What process do you use?
A: We use a two step process which is not just brush agitation but also
negative air as well. So many air duct cleaners use brush agitation but
with a vacuum through a small hose so a lot of the dust is settling back
down and not being removed. Our negative air system employs a vacuum
that draws every cubic inch of the whole duct. No matter how large or
small the duct is, it is under vacuum.
Upon our pre-inspection our technician will go over every step taken
from the initial covering and protecting to the final walk through.
3. Will cleaning my air ducts improve the air quality in my home?
A: Yes. The air in your home travels through your HVAC system and
continues to recycle the air. When your furnace turns on it sends this
air through your duct system. Contaminants in your HVAC system are
loosened and sent into the ducts. By removing dust, fungus and bacteria
in your air duct system you’ll be breathing cleaner air and dusting less
often.
4. How long will it take?
A: Our process is not quick. A good quality thorough job is time
consuming. The time required varies from job to job. We always do a
pre-inspection and can give you a time estimate at this time.
5. How much will this cost?
A: We like to do a pre-inspection at no cost to you; we can give you a
firm price at this time. Be careful of ads quoting a small bargain price
up front. Not all cleaners use the same process we do and include all
the steps necessary to assure your ducts are clean.
Carpet Repair:
1. Why is my carpet wrinkled?
A: This can be caused by poor installation, heavy traffic and carpet
type.
2. What type of equipment do you use?
A: We use power stretchers. This tool ensures that the carpet is tight
and will not buckle.
3. My dog tore my carpet, can this be fixed?
A: Yes. We can repair rips and holes in your carpet. We can patch this
with spare carpet or if there is not any spare available we can take
some from another area, like in the back of a closet in a non
conspicuous area.
4. How much will it cost to stretch my carpet?
A: It is difficult to estimate a cost for this without seeing it; there
are so many variables involved. We do pre-inspections at no cost to you.
Dryer Vent Cleaning:
1. Why is it important to clean my dryer vent?
A: This is a no brainer – safety and dryer efficiency. Clogged vents
cause your dryer to take much longer to dry not to mention a fire
hazard. Many structure fires a year are attributed to dryer vents.
2. How often do I need to clean my dryer vent?
A: This depends on the use and how many elbow turns there are in the
vent. For an average family of 4 we recommend every 2 years.
3. How long does the cleaning process take?
A: Most vents can be cleaned within and hour and a half. Additional time
will be needed if there is an excessive amount of lint or bird nest.
